Sowing Seeds to a Healthier You!

Are you living on a fixed income? Is your car in the shop? Having issues affording groceries because of expected bills and emergencies?

Then, Sowing Seeds is the perfect program for you. This effort of the Food Bank of

Greenwood County is dedicated to help get you through those hard times.

What’s even better is that you only pay $2.00 for one person up to $5.50 for a family of four or more.

With that investment you are making, you will receive fresh milk, eggs, bread and canned goods to help you remain healthy during even the toughest of times.

The Sowing Seeds program is each Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Food Bank of Greenwood County.

To participate in the program, you will need a photo ID, proof of Greenwood County residency, and proof of household income and size. In addition, you will need to meet the income guidelines.

It seems that on the busiest day before the holidays the food bank is closed. I personally went to the food bank at 12:30 12/21/2023 today only to be told that they were closed but employees were still there. The same thing happened for Thanksgiving this year. If the people in charge don't want to be bothered with the responsibility of operating a food bank and serving the public in the most needed time then maybe others should be appointed to do so. I called beforehand only to get the voicemail then I made the trip up to the food bank only to be told they were closed either the hours of operation are not true or the people in…
