ABOUT US
The Food Bank of Greenwood County strives to reduce hunger and promote health and wellness in the communities of the Lakelands. We are a volunteer-driven organization supported by the generosity of individuals, churches, businesses, and organizations. Every contribution and volunteer helps us meet the emergency food needs in our community.
From the youngest resident to the oldest resident, we are here to help. Our top priority is protecting our most vulnerable populations (children and seniors). Through a variety of programs, we feed more than 2,000 individuals in our community each month; accounting for approximately 3 percent of the population of Greenwood County.
Food insecurity has been defined as the "lack of access to enough good, healthy, and culturally appropriate food."
